Nytt fra Gullsmedverkstedet

Yesterday at the fair, I finally found the perfect stone for my friend Renate's ring.

I've had this ring for a long time now, searching for the perfect stone, but due to the setting's weird size, it's been hard to find a suitable one in the colour that she wanted. But yesterday I finally found a stone from an Indian gem trader, and it was a perfect match! When I got home, I went straight for the workbench and set it. I must say that this ring has been a nightmare (sorry Renate), when I got it it was broken in 3 different places, with the setting full of clay. The silver was really crisp and very hard to solder on. The metal in the setting was so thin that I could push it around with my pinky finger! I tried to reinforce the metal in the setting, but since the ring itself was so crisp and difficult, I didn't dare to heat it anymore. BUT, all that said, it's a gorgeous ring, that now has a perfect stone.

So now, Renate's ring is all ready for her to wear.

E finito! :)

I'm back in the lab now, working on my bubble necklace. I hope I'm able to finish it today, I'll show ya'll later :)

Tusen, tusen takk igjen!
